Teaching Universal Behaviors

A little examination of two behaviors, which are learned almost universally by all Americans, reveals some shocking information about the effectiveness of some of the teaching techniques that we choose to use to educate our children.

In the last six months we have been conducting a little informal survey as we travel across America, and it has yielded some very interesting and very thought provoking data. Sanskrit Conference: Preference Shall Be Given To Sanskrit

The organizers of upcoming ‘Sanskrit’ (?) conference in the year 2012  have  already clarified their stand by announcing that they will give more weight to the science subjects. I have been observing the Sanskritists  since some forty years with dismay. By the word science they mean Astronomy, Chemistry,  Botany and Zoology. According to these University-products of  the English-adopted-children, no  shastra like Vyaakarana,  Nyaaya, Vedanta is  science ! Dear University-based Sanskritists! Please explain me why there is a word ‘Political Science’ in your English ? How it is  science according to your definition? The Sociologists say that the Sociology is science of society. How can you defend  them? Or in your opinion, are they erring in defining their subject?

Your Blog Optimization for Profit – Part 3

In Part 2 of this series, we talked about how getting high quality links from authoritative websites in your field can boost your search engine rankings. This time, we are going to explore further into linking strategies and how to determine and obtain “high quality” links. We are also going to briefly explain the much promoted PageRank system used by the major Search Engines.

First, examine a regular link. A link is nothing more than a piece of text. It is what appears in your address bar at the top of the browser you are using right now or you can visit www.atoz-about-rss.com. It can also be an image that links to your blog but, for our example, we are using text.

Some of the factors that matter most are:

1) the website location which the link takes you to.

2) The actual text of the link. What does the link tell the Search Engines?

3) The PageRank of the page on which the link takes a Search Engine

Book Review – Think Like a Billionaire by Donald Trump

When I first picked up Donald Trump’s book titled, “Trump: Think Like a Billionaire,” I thought the book would be an insightful and easy read.  The book was very easy to read, but not very insightful.  Trump has divided this book into 100 or so chapters of about two or three pages each which describe a different tip or aspect of a billionaire’s life. 

Trump gives tips on every aspect of life, from finding an attorney, to which golf clubs to play with, to romance, to keeping up your appearances in the business world.  He basically tells you how to live life like he does.  Trump gives you his tips and tricks in five different chapters.  Chapter one deals with real estate.  Some of the topics in this chapter are how to get an appraisal and inspection on your property, how to deal with a broker and attorney, how to landscape, how to pick an interest rate and down payment, and how to find a good office.

Miss Congeniality – 2 Stars (Average)

“Miss Congeniality” had a real identity problem as a movie. Unfortunately for Sandra Bullock, the star of the film as FBI agent Gracie Hart, Miss Congeniality could not take her as far as her performance merited.

She did win a second Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy; her first was the same nomination for her role as Lucy in “While You Were Sleeping”.

Released in 2000, Miss Congeniality is not a drama, an action adventure, a police flick, a comedy or a romantic comedy. It is a mismatch of all and a master of none. When you add in the corny, juvenile, inappropriate dialog, the film is lucky it had Sandra Bullock as its centerpiece because without her, it would have been beyond dismal.
